The heroine wakes to several “good morning” and “good night” messages on her phone, supposedly sent by Kent, her rather brusque boyfriend. Kent is a mathematics student in grad school who likes to look at things with a bird’s-eye view.

He has a tendency to take amusement in phenomena that can't be clearly explained by logic. The people around him, along with their emotions, are often subjects of his observation.

For Kent, even something as supernatural as love needs to be observed and, of course, analyzed.
