Game Flow Until Your Battle Against Trillion!

◇ Assigning the Overlord

▲ You chose Levia.

After the introduction into the story, you will be prompted to select an Overlord. The pool of 3 candidates available are "Levia," "Mammon," and "Perpell." The 4th Overlord and beyond are determined by the storyline of the game.
(Your second play through after clearing the game will feature a system that will allow you to choose any of the Overlords from the beginning!)

Each time you choose your Overlord, you are allotted 10,000 G to spend on items and basic needs.

◇ Start Training

First, you need to select "Training" in order to gain experience points.
Before selecting any particular training method, we recommend you to first determine what stats you want to level or which skills you want to learn, so that you can select the best training available.
Note that you may find character icons above the training method. If those are chosen, you will gain more experience points than usual, so it would be wise to select one with as many characters on them as possible.

The greater the result from your training, the more experience points you gain.
Getting either "Excellent" or "Great" will get you a Training Medal which is used to enter the Valley of Swords - a dungeon where you can test your skills.

Selecting "Training" or "Rest" will mark the end of 1 Day.

The amount of time remaining before Trillion awakens is shown on the top left hand corner of the screen. Use it gauge the amount of time you have for training.

Note that there are over 100 different events which occur throughout your training period.
These events have choices and depending on the choice made, you may earn experience points or even skills!

◇ Resting is good

Each time you train, your Fatigue level increases.
Your training results are affected by your Fatigue, so if you notice you're not getting good results, check your Fatigue level and rest.
"Rest" allows you to reduce your Fatigue greatly.

Under "Rest" you can also find "Interact," which is integral to training. This command allows you to communicate and interact with the Overlord so that your Affection increases. Once your Affection reaches a certain level, various events in relation to the Overlord will occur. If you raise the Affection level to max, you'll notice the Overlord's way of speech changes, and you may see a very special ending related to that Overlord, too.

Interact increases your Affection Points (PTS), which holds a very important role in your battle against Trillion. PTS can act as your HP and MP, and so long as you have a single PTS left, you can order your Overlord to retreat from battle. Hence, raising your Affection with the Overlord will increase their odds of survival!

You can also raise Affection through use of the Underworld Prize machine. At the end of each Day, you will receive a Token to use for the Underworld Prize machine.
By spinning the slot, you can gain gifts which you can give to the Overlord.

◇ Mock battle against Trillion (Mokujin)

After a Cycle passes (7 Days), you are challenged with a battle against Mokujin. Mokujin transforms into Trillion, and in this battle, you can confirm its moves and determine what else you need to face Trillion.
Be sure you raise your stats and learn skills before entering into battle!

If you defeat Mokujin, you can gain a large amount of experience points, money, and PTS, based on battle results. Use this battle to your advantage to make your Overlord stronger.

◇ Challenging the Valley of Swords

You should have a good amount of Training Medals by now, so lets take a shot at the Valley of Swords.
The Valley of Swords is comprised of a single layer where you can find various treasure chests holding items, equipment, and seals to use at the Dark Blacksmith. Search and gather these items found in the dungeon before your time runs out.

◇ Strengthening your weapon

You may have found some seals at the Valley of Swords, so use those to strengthen your weapon.
Your weapon has slots where you can graft the seal into, thereby imparting special powers that the seal holds. You can also pay to get your weapon's power strengthened.

You can find money at the Valley of Swords,
but if you want to gain a huge lump sum, try using "Order" found under the "Rest" command.

◇ Preparing yourself at Faust's Lab

The lab that Faust manages sells various items and equipment. You can also hire Devil Envoys here. Devil Envoys fight on their own accord alongside the Overlord in battle. Note that the number of Devil Envoys you can bring into battle is dependent on your CAP stat.

◇ Trillion finally awakens...

Once the number of Cycles and Days are gone, Trillion awakens from its slumber. Before going into battle, make sure that you allocated all your experience points, and have all your items and equipment properly equipped.

Your battle against Trillion begins!
The battle proceeds in turns where both the Overlord and the enemies will move at the same time. Avoid the mines that Trillion places, and head towards Trillion while defeating its minions.

All of Trillion's actions can be foreseen before they activate. The white grids on the ground represent Trillion's attack range, and the colors represent the timing as to when Trillion will strike. The color transitions from white to red, at which point Trillion's attack will launch, so move out of the way to avoid its attack. Most of Trillion's attacks are immensely powerful, and strong enough to bring death with a single blow, so be very careful with your moves.

Use tactics, such as the "Charge" skill, to quickly move outside of Trillion's attack range. Use whatever means you have available to face Trillion!

Defeating Trillion's minions allows the Overlord to move 1 extra time within that turn. If you use Trillion's minions properly, you can get that much closer to Trillion to strike!

By repetitively attacking the same body part, you can destroy Trillion's external shell. If successful, you can seal the moves Trillion unleashes from that body part for that battle.

If after all you've done, you don't feel like you can win, be sure you "Retreat." In place of Trillion consuming a part of the Underworld, you will have the opportunity to train the Overlord again. But be careful, as once you lose all your Affection Points (PTS), you will no longer be able to order the Overlord to retreat from battle.

If your Overlord's HP hits 0, they can use their final Death Skill. There are a number of different Death Skills to choose from. One allows you to inflict terrifying damage to Trillion, another allows you to extend the next Overlord's training period, and more. Be sure you choose wisely with sight into the next battle to come against Trillion.

◇ Passing the torch

Once the Overlord you trained dies, a part of the Overlord's experience points are passed on to the next Overlord. Items not used or equipped are passed on as well, so use these to your advantage to train your next Overlord to face Trillion.
